Learn to play the drums - R & B
R & B or Rhythm and Blues originated in the 1940s when a Jazz based music with strong, heavy beats grew more popular. Artists like Leroy Carr, T-Bone Walker and Cab Calloway brought the sounds of R&B to urban America emphasizing the piano, saxophone and electric guitars. R&B gained in popularity in the late 1940s and 1950s with artists Paul Williams, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Fats Domino, Nat King Cole, Chuck Berry, and even Elvis in the late 1950s. The 1960s and 1970s brought Chubby Checker and Sam Cooke among many others and influenced the Motown Sound and Contemporary R&B of today's Pop music and Hip Hop.
