Learn to play Hip Hop Drums
Hip Hop started in New York City in the 1970's where artists, DJ's, influenced by R&B, Soul, Disco, Funk and Jamaican dub began to mix and spin their favorite music while isolating the percussive breaks. Hip Hop's popularity grew and by the 1980s more complex styles began to emerge using drum machines and multiple turntables to isolate and extend different aspects of their music. By the 1990's Hip Hop broke into the mainstream music scene where nearly a third of all songs on the Billboard Hot 100 were Hip Hop songs. Today Hip Hop is extremely popular and not only in the US, but "worldwide" as Pitbull likes to tell us.
