Learn to play the drums – Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal formed in UK and US in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Metal bands used heavy, thick sounds with lots of distortion, strong drum beats and AWESOME solos! Bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Jimmy Hendrix lead the early scene and were influenced by the Blues. Other Metal bands like Judas Priest, Motorhead and Iron Maiden were more influenced by the popular concurrent Punk music style emphasizing on speed and high energy.  Then came Glam Metal of the 80’s with Motley Crue, Poison, and Thrash Metal with Metallica and Megadeth. Heavy Metal has continued it’s popularity and influence in today’s heavy rock, hardcore punk, nu metal and death metal scenes to name just a few.
